Star Wars: Galactic Racer includes “a good mix of familar faces and new characters”.

Recent trailers for the upcoming racing title have revealed fan-favourite characters like The Phantom Menace’s Ben Quadinaros and Sebulba will be returning, and while Galactic Racer will have a few surprise appearances, developer Fuse Games has stressed there will be new faces too.

During an interview with IGN, creative director Kieran Crimmins said: “There’s going to be a good mix of familiar faces and new characters.

“Obviously we want to get that mix right, so no matter what kind of Star Wars media you’ve engaged with, whether it be a movie or game, there’s a bunch of familiarity in there when it comes to the space.

“Otherwise it wouldn’t feel like an authentic Star Wars experience.”

Acknowledging Sebulba and Quadinaros, he said: “So there’s both familiar faces and new characters.

We can’t talk about who exactly they are just yet though, sorry.”

Fuse founder and CEO Mat Webster said that while The Phantom Menace’s Boonta Eve Classic will indeed feature in Galactic Racer, other parts from the Star Wars galaxy will also appear.

He said: “We’ve seen racing as an activity and as a sport in Star Wars has been around in many forms, right?

“Episode I’s podracing we all know and love, Bad Batch’s riot racing in Season 2 was just awesome. Star Wars Resistance has got the Aces and low-altitude starfighter racing.”

Star Wars: Galactic Racer is set at some point after Return of the Jedi, and is set to release later in 2026.
