Halo Infinite’s active development will end later this month, developer Halo Studios has announced.
The company has said work on its 2021 sci-fi shooter will be sunsetted when Operation: Infinite launches on November 18, 2025 so it can focus on the “multiple titles” it is currently developing, including 2026’s Halo: Campaign Evolved.
In a blog post from Halo Studios, the developer wrote: “As we look back on four years of evolution and updates in Halo Infinite, we’d like to thank our community for your steadfast support.
“Without your feedback and enthusiasm, Halo Infinite multiplayer would not be the special place it is today: a robust arena for slaying and playing, with something for every Spartan.
“With multiple Halo titles in development, we’ll need our whole team’s combined focus to deliver new experiences with the same passion and care that our community has given us.
“While we remain committed to supporting Halo Infinite on the road ahead, Operation: Infinite is the last major content update currently planned.
“Starting November 18, Operation: Infinite will introduce a 2X boosts on Career Rank and SP, 100-tier Operation Pass, eight earnable armor sets, new Ranked Seasons, and 200 never-before-released customizations arriving in The Exchange.”
Halo Studios revealed it would be remaking Bungie’s 2001 classic shooter Halo: Combat Evolved last month, confirming the singleplayer title Halo: Campaign Evolved would release at some point next year.
